Anyone with sterling is a winner at the moment but ordinary Turks are suffering.Drinks and food in the cafes and restaurants are still incredibly good value so everyone coming to Kalkan will be made very welcome and treated fairly.There are a number of places open, so enough choice for anyone staying over the xmas/new year period.

Post by: caradog on August 13, 2018, 04:56:10 PM: Wouldn’t buy in a falling market. Current consensus seems to be “complete lack of confidence” (in the Turkish lira). If you’d bought £500 worth last Monday you’d have got 3375 lira. Today you’d get 4277 (isbank rates). Still dropping, so next week? Wait till it stabilises or starts going back up.
