What do people think the effects of the weekend's  vote will be further down the line.  Will there be a less secular environment?

Hard to say right now in isolation.
When Erdogan changed the laws concerning the sale of alcohol we thought that would be very detrimental to tourism but in reality how much has it affected us as visitors?
We wait to see what else this administration comes up with on top of the recent changes in relation to registering guests and paying tax if you are an overseas owner who lets out accommodation.
Turkey's tourist industry is a big contributor of Turkey's GDP but other areas such as manufacturing are worth more. Tourism has taken some huge knocks over the past few years for all the reasons we already know, so perhaps the idea is to become less reliant on it as an income stream. Who knows...?
