That sounds as though it could be interesting, as there seems to be very little advertising for holidays, tourism in the UK for Turkey may raise some interest.
Gallipoli is a very interesting area. Just sorry we won't be able to watch it.

Definitely worth a watch...thanks BL.
I saw Simon Calder on This Morning yesterday and he was bigging up Turkey and said he was going himself fairly soon. This was in response to someone who had called in asking if Turkey was safe for travel - she'd already booked her holiday there BTW ???
No-one is asking if France is safe...

Very interesting Simon Calder's views on travel to Turkey watched lots of his travel advice in the past and he seems to talk a lot of sense, puts you mind at rest somewhat when he says he'd be happy to take his own family. Turkey really needs a boost in tourism this year having suffered badly last year. Seemed quite a lot quieter in Kalkan last September and the restaurant owners said they were really feeling the pinch. Such a shame, hopefully we'll be visiting for the fourteenth time this year all being well. It'll take a lot to put us off going and well where is really safe these days?

Well one step forward and three steps back. Passengers on inbound flights from Turkey will not be allowed to use laptops or tablets on board and these items will not be allowed in hand luggage either. Including Turkey with the list of perceived/known terrorist areas will be damaging, but at the end of the day, safety first!

Just saw the news report about the new rules, don't think it's too difficult to do without all the gadgetry for a couple of hours and just relax and maybe actually chat. Mind you I think some parents might have a challenge on their hands keeping the nippers occupied without their gadgets. Won't really affect myself still like an old fashioned paperback on the flight although I do take a Kindle, and as already mentioned got to be safety first.

Thanks for the reminder Blue Lizard about the programme tonight.

I haven't been posting lately but following the Forum daily and appreciate those who have taken the time to keep it going during the quiet  winter months.   Looking forward to the next visit to Kalkan although it is unlikely to be before June.   Flights are booked for June and again in September.   I will be very happy with my usual paper back on the flights although planning to put my Kindle in the hold case (not for reading but for keeping up with things and sending e-mails if necessary)
