Hi all can anyone advise if its possible to have a turkish bank account if you are not resident and don't currently have a property?
Many thanks
Anne 😊

Hi Anne, To open a bank account in Turkey you need to have a Turkish tax number which you get when you are buying or are the owner of a property with in the Republic of Turkey .

Thanks very much, what about if you are renting long term and have a short term residents visa? Just exploring options 😊

Not 100 percent sure on that one, but doubt you will get a Turkish tax number.

As you need a Turkish Tax number to purchase a villa and you don't need residency to purchase a villa you must be able to obtain a Tax number as a non owner... From memory it was the 1st stage in the process of buying our villa. Once you have the Tax number you can open a bank account.

Agree with Hobbo we got our tax number and opened a Turkish bank account here in Kalkan before we even bought our property or had reseidency. You get the tax number from Kas
