With the recent announcement of the above I was wondering what EK members think ?

I suspect there will be advantages and disadvantages, Advantages less hassle with visas , there should be a deal on healthcare, you will be able to draw your UK pension out there . Disadvantages they might join the single currency ! we will loose all those lovely fakes , that said my wife's handbag collection will go down thus saving lots of room. I am not sure if the current situation will speed up Turkey's admission , as there are always a few countries who will continue to veto their joining, the latest development appears to be a further fast tracking of their original application . It could still be 5 - 10 years away before they are allowed to join, unless they give them some sort of half way house status until full membership is agreed or not !. I hope they get it

Can't see Turkey getting proper EU membership for a few years, if ever.
Currently, the deal is all about blackmail and obstinacy and manipulative demands, something a certain Person is a dab hand at.
With the human rights infringements, and all the economic issues, there may be some relaxation of rules, to try to deal with the migrant situation, but that will be about it.
Anyway, if Turkey joins the EU, where are they going to put all the accessibility aids that EU directives insist on, in Kalkan? Or will they just ignore them like Italy does, leaving the UK as the only ones who follow the rules?
I'm just imagining all those lifts, ramps and things to get mobility impaired people to the rooftop restaurants… >:D

another scenario, Turkey join and UK vote to leave in June , Oh the fun of it all!

I don't think it affects visa requirements for uk so I guess we will not see anything different. I don't think Turkey in the current climate will have any hope of joining the EU.
