Title: Flights to Dalaman - New Year 2016
Post by: TCTRAVELLER on February 18, 2016, 10:09:43 AM
Hi
We have a villa in Kalkan and for the first time ever we both can have annual leave over the new year period, so are thinking of spending the new year in Kalkan.

We live in the midlands and would like to fly out just after Christmas and come back 2nd Jan - who do people use to get flights to Dalaman? Have been looking and certainly can't find any direct flights - any tips please?

thanks

I usually take the Thomas Cook flight direct from Manchester to Dalaman, but their flights for December on this route have not been released yet. There is usually a flight just before Christmas, and another one just before New Year - each with return flights one week later.

Alternatively you can fly direct from Manchester to Antalya in December (no fights from B'ham available at present) - there is a direct flight out from MCR on 27th December 2016, returning on 3rd January 2017. Not cheap though at around £338 return. With a good driver and decent weather you can make the transfer in around 3 hours at a cost of around £70 each way. You can also fly from Birmingham to Dalaman on the same dates via Istanbul for about the same price but with a 12 hour stop over.

There may be other options I haven't covered. Hope you make it. I always have a great time in Kalkan at New Year.

We also live in the Midlands, we have done the TC routes direct from Manchester or Gatwick - we also have flown into Antalya, spent a couple of nights there (definitely worth a visit) and then drove to Kalkan (around 3 hour drive).

Can highly recommend Kalkan for New Year -  lovely atmosphere and the daytime weather can be great too!  Just hope that Thomas Cook will continue with these flights as they seem to have been quick to cancel other routes this year.
