using your UK mobile in Turkey costs a bomb but I've heard that you can use the TU Go app in conjunction with wifi to make calls to other mobiles and land lines for free.

Is anyone using this app and can confirm?

We're staying slightly out of town in Sept and planning to phone for takeaways, restaurant pick ups etc. and I'm hoping this will save us a few bob so would welcome any feedback.

I use tugo and works well. Make sure you connect via the App and everything should be fine. Only real problem is depending on the signal it can be difficult to be heard but a strong signal and everything is fine. Use it to call my 86 year old mum while we're away and save a fortune!

You can also use whatsapp now to make phone calls back home via wifi and works really well and also via Facebook it's useful when calling friends and family just make sure you are connected to a wifi zone.
