Just wondering when people are visiting this year
28Th June for 20 nights,taking advantage of our daughter finishing school early due to GCSE exams,so lot cheaper flights for us this year!!!

I was there last week .. it was great to see all the shops bars & restaurants coming to life after a wet winter.
was kept busy with my spring cleaning, didn't help that a cat had got in and shredded my curtains !
However had a lovely week weather was fabulous. Roll on my next visit :)

6th June and already looking at the weather forecast. Also looking at forecasts for London - need some rain to water plants when not here. I will wait another week or so before starting the count the "sleeps".

25 hours 15 mins to take off with BA for 5 weeks, then another 6 weeks in September/October.

We normally go in May, but this year we're in Kalkan in July and again in late September. Yay. Can't wait.

20th June for 2 weeks with Mrs Hobbo and the 2 mini Hobbos (not so mini any more at 22 and 20!) plus Emma (Andys GF) for her 1st trip to Turkey. Looking forward to reading the Antler blog whilst we are there. 8)

I'd do one, but it would read: Got up, had breakfast, went to pool, had lunch, went back to pool, had a drink, got ready, had a drink, went out for meal, back to bar, went to bed.

Chris_S, Don't feel left out because you aren't going until September. I suspect a few of us going out round about now will also be planning to be back in Kalkan for another visit then. A recent survey in KTLN concluded that September was a favourite month. I am always undecided which I prefer between June and September - love both.
Antler, I will also look forward to your next blog. I would like to attempt one myself but can't manage to type without a proper keyboard. If I ever do manage one it might contain a lot of "just made a large g and t" or "just poured large glass of Lal". Varied a little with "just curled up with a book and a large Efes". I think you will all get the idea.....

Those last two posts sound exactly what I do!!! Like TL says I too cannot type without a keyboard and even that sometimes comes out wrong depending how stiff the poor old fingers are!!!

Tortoise Lady, I hope I will be able to type by then, as I have broken my big finger so it is in a splint for 6 weeks. (Many ask how I did it and I have to be honest, I broke it doing up my flies. I am sure there is a joke in there somewhere - if it weren't so painful!).
The benefit is, I will be drinking "3 fingers" of Smirnoff Blue with my Pepsi Max on that roof terrace, which at the moment, due to the splint, gives me 3 fingers and a half!

Antler - I once broke my middle finger of my right hand. being right handed, it showed me what I could do left-handed, brushing teeth was the hardest!
As a Design Engineer, it didn't help with drafting to an accuracy of .02inch, either...
Strangely, it wasn't painful; but it's still bent, courtesy of the local hospital's lack of concern.

8 Antlers.....is this a first?

Yes, K4E, this will be a first with all the family - the last 3 years will have gone: 6, 7 and 8! And a different villa each time so each one has been a very different holiday.
I think we are going to find it hard to drag ourselves away from that roof terrace and that will be another first, as previously, we haven't had "our bar" up there (unlike our plans for tis year!).
And as for Kazim, our Chef at Home on Fathers day, just after we arrive, I will truly be in paradise learning from him...

We are having withdrawal symptoms...not back in Kalkan until 26th June for 12 nights, then back to the UK for the rest of the summer :'(
We do still have six weeks in September/October though 8)

All you people with your 3/4/6 weeks in Kalkan make me so jealous.......I get over excited at 9 days. But we are currently trying to work out when we can afford to retire and it suddenly dawned on me at the weekend that when we do we'll be able to have long holidays in our favourite place! The trick is to work it all out so we can do that and still visit other places......I don't ask for much? :laugh:

We also are counting the months until we retire, and whilst we hope to be able to spend longer in Kalkan, like you, we want to be able to visit other places. BH wants a motorhome....it'll be a long drive to Kalkan :o :o

just got back and feeling a bit sad , however will be back in Sept/Oct so now feeling happy again . Kalkan withdrawal symptoms are now treatable with large doses of EFES , my doctor says at least several doses a day are required and has also prescribed a minimum two visits per year to Kalkan , unfortunately I have to pay for prescriptions , but it is a price worth paying

I was in Wetherspoons yesterday drinking EFES medicine..£2.69 for big bottle not the same I know but on a hot day in the beer garden it tides you over till next time..................sigh!
still aye aye keramba! only 20 days to go!!

I just wondered if the Efes medicine is available on prescription..........but i suppose at around £ 8.20 for each one,its better to go to Wetherspoons.
