Title: "Interesting" e-visa glitch?
Post by: Mags on April 21, 2015, 12:02:59 PM
OK. So: I went to the official Turkish Government website yesterday, to get e-visas for myself and husband. I input all my details, got the verification screen up and clicked "verify". I then got an egg-timer for about 2 minutes, after which it told me there had been an error and my details had not been saved. So, I started again and this time it was all OK, so I then successfully input OH's details and, again, that was OK. Went through the payment process OK.
I then discovered that I had been issued with TWO e-visas for myself - identical but for different reference numbers. I had also been charged for 3 visas in total (I should have spotted this on the payment screen, but I'd got it into my head that they were 30 USD each, not 20).
Has this happened to anyone else (and, if so, did it cause any problems at passport control in Dalaman?). If not, something to watch out for, as this website glitch could be a nice little earner for the Turkish authorities!!
