Post by: The Engineer on February 28, 2015, 10:09:40 AM
My sister & bother in law are planning to drive to Kalkan this year & they are struggling to find car insurance for Turkey. Can anyone help & give any tips of what the drive will be like?

Hi Engineer,

I'm sure I've read a blog about driving from England to Kalkan within the last couple of years.  I tried a search of this forum, there are many pages of vaguely related messages but one did have a link to the Fethiye Times (http://www.fethiyetimes.org.uk/) that has just that, a description of the journey.  It says you have to register to read it & I didn't do that when reading the topic so may either have read it via KTLN (Kalkan Local News) another source of info & advice a bit like this forum.  Again to search you need to register.

Otherwise just plough through this forum after entering a search.

Good luck !

Not comprehensive, and may not be helpful, but try:

There is a great article on Driving from Kalkan to Kent on KTLN -
It is very interesting and comprehensive. They avoided driving though the Balkan countries, except Greece, by using a ferry across the Adriatic to Italy. I would love to do it but my Wife is not too keen!!

Hope they do it and tell us how they get on.

Cheers
Tyros

just for fun, and apologies for the numerous acronyms and tech speak, you could always do it this way if you had the money, the training, the time, etc, etc)
