Title: Rise in electricity prices/Solar water heating
Post by: Christina on November 16, 2014, 01:17:22 PM
These past few months, my Kalkan neighbours and I have been horrified at the dramatic increase in our electricity bills. In spite of installing energy saving devices, our bills have still risen, and some friends have seen their bills more than double. (And none of us has seen the promised 10% discount!) As some of us rent out our properties and have already set our tariffs/taken bookings for 2015, it will mean largely absorbing these price hikes ourselves.

One obvious step for me is to look at the option of installing solar heating for my water supply, and I was wondering if anyone in the forum has any recent experience of the pros/cons/costs/equipment suppliers of this. I currently have a boiler for hot water and wondered if it might be possible to keep this to switch over to on those days when the sun hasn't been able to heat sufficient water.

Any info/advice would be gratefully received.
