Title: M&S exchange rates
Post by: BarbH on May 08, 2014, 12:37:28 PM
Has anyone noticed that M&S  seem to have  dropped the Turkish lira off their website. I have noticed for days now that in the top 13 they have not been mentioned, so today have gone onto their site and cannot find Turkish Lira :o

Have no idea if  the stores are still selling it, they were a couple of weeks ago as I bought some.

Have you tried calling them, BarbH? I think there's a phone line for M&S Exchange as well the online facility

No K4E have not as I do not need any but was curious to find the M&S rates had disappeared from the "Compare rates site" I noticed it had gone over the weekend and just thought perhaps they had run out of lira, So then I went on their M&S Money and they had every other country  except for Turkey. I am going out tomorrow and will ask in the local store what it's all about. :)

Cave you keep us updated BarbH as M and S are my "preferred" place to exchange some cash before we leave as I sometimes get a better rate as a cardholder, thanks

I ordered currency from Travelex 2 days ago to be delivered on Saturday. I had a phone call today to say they didn't have any Turkish Lira and were refunding my money.....this would take 3-5 working days!!!! I have read elsewhere that it could be an attempt by the Turkish government to drive the rate down and stop inflation as there doesn't seem to be any available in the UK. I usually take some Turkish Lira and some Sterling and exchange there. I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy a few weeks ago!!
