Title: Less than 6 months on passport
Post by: Chucky on October 18, 2013, 05:43:03 PM
Has anyone travelled to and from Turkey on a passport with less than 6 months until the passport expiry date on?
Or indeed has anyone been refused entry because they had less than 6 months on their passport?
Cheers
Joan

We know of two people refused permission to travelbecause their passport had less than  6 months to run when they wished to enter Turkey.

In both cases the person was stopped at UK check in and refused permission to board. Their travel insurance did not cover the subsequent losses.

The very first guests in our villa were a British M.P. and his family, his passport had less than 6 months to run (he told us & hoped we could advise  ::), this was about two weeks before they travelled ) we obviously couldn't, however he got his holiday, maybe he was given some sort of privilege?

Thanks for your prompt replies.
Apply for new passport well before expiry date appears to be the moral of this particular tale. :)
