Title: Famous visitors
Post by: kimnjamie on June 14, 2013, 07:57:35 AM
Hi we are returning to Kalkan in August and we reall can't wait!! This our first post for a couple of years and now using a new covert agent pseudonym!!

Following on from the Daniel Craig discussion, I'm sure lots of famous people have visited Kalkan and discovered it's charms. This year we are bringing friends with us who have never been before. My friend is a Peter Kay lookalikey!! We've seen a few amazing boats in the harbour and in the bay, and wondered who was in town. So my question is this.... Who is the most famous visitor seen by the EK members in Kalkan?

Well, a couple of discussion threads below have revealed, that the following have been spotted in Kalkan. Some seem like very confident sightings .... whilst others are more probably the result of fertile imaginations, no doubt fuelled by a surfeit of Efes. I'm sure there are new ones to add, but I think we can now confidently strike Daniel Craig from the list!

Not in Kalkan but saw the actor Denis Lawson on Patara beach a couple of years ago.
Also saw the actor Michael Byrne who played Gail's gay dad Ted on Corrie on the plane to Dalaman once.
Gutted about Daniel Craig by the way...

I saw Kate Garraway from ITV Daybreak at the Aubergine a couple of years ago. She was there with friends and family. Some of her group also looked familiar TV people but I couldn't name them. L

I saw Gilly the wine lady at Indigo beach once, Micheal Burke and Edward Stourton have both visited on sailing boats. A couple of years ago Micheal Douglas & Catherine ZJ were on a boat in Fırnaz Bay. Martin Fry from ABC years ago.

I thought it was Simon Gregson who plays Steve McDonald in corrie. I thought Steven James was an author?
