Post by: popps on April 28, 2013, 03:59:56 PM
Hello all,
Planning a week's break end of May/start of June and considering staying in Patara village for a change. Has anyone any recommendations re places to stay etc.? Will be taking my 13 year old son.
Cheers,
Popps

Long time since we stayed in Patara but we are regular visitors....As PW says have a look at    www.pataraviewpoint.com (http://www.pataraviewpoint.com) or it's sister hotel www.pataragoldenlighthouse.com (http://www.pataragoldenlighthouse.com)
restaurants are simpler but good food can be found..try Tlos, left hand side road leading down into village. Osman is an excellent chef (but no alchohol) in the town square opposite bus stop Aspendos is simple but home cooking, great for snacks(Osmans brother). While up on the main road leading to beach on the right you will see Jimmys(harrods)..great for snacks and jimmy is fun...(he is also a shop..food, clothes, bags etc)
on the downside ? Patara is home to skeeters at night due to marshes between village and the beach...be well covered in your  chemicals!
