Title: Driving from Antalya to Kalkan best route?

I will be driving from Antalya to kalkan this Fri eve, what's the best route at this time of year?
Any tips ??

Hi Hobbo - I remember asking our property Manager a similar question, and his answer was to avoid the mountain route in Winter as they can have deep snow, although he did say at the right time of year it is spectacular and he enjoys this route the best.  Perhaps safer to stick to the coast road, which is beautiful also. Safe driving!

I prefer the coast rd,a little longer drive,but I think nicer,the mountain rd is fine also ......

we went back via the mountain road 15th January, it's very scenic and quicker than he coast road by about half an hour, if it's dark the views of either don't  matter do they, because you can't see them. The coast road is very windy in places and can get a bit tedious.
  Pros and cons for both, but for me, if it would be mountain road.

We have done it quite a few times and prefer the mountain road. Less bendy!

What about going via Fethiye - longer in km but shorter in time because of straighter roads and all dual carriageway until you hit Fethiye....ideal for those who are prone to car sickness too.  Come out of Antalya on the main Izmir road and instead of turning off left onto the normal mountain route just outside Antalaya - carry on along the dual carriageway - past the turning for Elmali and Finike and carry on until you turn left signposted Fethiye and then all dual carriageway to Fethiye...easy!

Agree with felicity, much better route & hardly anything in it re km or time.

Many thanks to all, my concern regarding the mountain rd was the potential conditions at this time of year, I will keep an eye on the forecast and decide based on that on the day.

Arrived in Kalkan this eve nice easy drive from Antalya drove the route suggested by a few people D350 nearly to Fethiye then back to Kalkan on the D400 2:45 from B&Q in Antalya so approx 3:10 total from airport.
