Title: summer flights
Post by: teke on January 07, 2013, 01:39:18 PM
Booking Monarch flights last night for August I noticed that if you put in one passenger you are quoted a cheaper price than entering two passengers! So its cheaper to book as two idividuals than a couple.Watch out for the extras credit card fee its a percentage of total price.£15 discount if you enter code BIG15.
Any body else noticed the price difference on other airlines?
The price of flights in the summer Holidays is getting to the point were people are going to look elsewere for holiday ideas.

Teke - totally agree with you, the prices are getting ridiculous! We booked ours last September, and they have already gone up in excess of £200!

On Jet2 it's cheaper for 1 person to add 2bags than for 2 people to add 1 bag each! Same weight allowance and saves you a tenner or to put it another way about 5 pints of efes!!

I recently looked for flights in August and for two people on EasyJet it came to over £950.  When we first went it was about £140 each.  I suppose it's the cost of fuel.

Easyjet are nearly always our choice but best to get them asap when they are released. Actually going end Feb this year via Istanbul. Paid £139 total with one bag for 2 people return from Luton. After using nectar points to pay it came to just over £6! Easyjet again from Gatwick end April for 3 weeks - £140(pp).

We booked for October on the first day the flights were released and noticed a huge rise in price......I suppose we should have used nectar points......we have lots stored away but have just never worked out how to use them....dab hand with the avios points though for other destinations.....anywhere in Europe for £27 if you have enough points!

£5 cashback on TC shorthaul via Quidco too.

Oh and by the way, there is a code for £15 off flights on the Quidco site for Monarch. Not sure if that is single, one way trips or you have to book returns.
