Title: Turkish Lessons Part 2!
Post by: Alabalik on January 20, 2008, 12:26:57 PM
Hi

A while ago Kevincat asked if anyone could recommend a Turkish Language Teacher.  A response was ZeZe - does anyone know how to get hold of ZeZe?

We are returning to Kalkan in March and would like to organise
regular Turkish lessons.  Is there anyone else in Kalkan who teaches Turkish as a foreign language?

Many thanks

Thanks to those who gave some names for Turkish lessons - we are learning with Mecit - so far so good.
Teacher good - pupils need to get their heads round the language!!

Hi
I was wondering Alabalik, how you decided on your choice of Turkish teacher following the 2 recommendation posts given. Was it based on experience or price or both?
Now you''ve been going to classes for a while, how are you getting along?
I''ve been waiting to get into classes here in UKfor some time due to popularity and scarcity of teachers, so have been stumbling along during my regular visits. It would be great to have some lessons each time I come out and to be able to practice ''in situ''. So any advice on this would be much appreciated - from anyone! :)
Many thanks

Hi Rosie

You could say it was Hobson''s Choice! - I emailed the two people that were recommended and had a response from Mecit - so having met him we decided we would learn Turkish with him.

As I posted earlier - so far so good! - We did not start with conversation but went back to the basics (or not so basic) - grammar.  Unfortunately we have had a break of a month but restart on
Monday with, hopefully, not too much revision needed.  It is a very difficult language to learn though or perhaps our brains are getting old.

It is great fun practicing on the locals and sometimes they are surprised at the extent of our Turkish and sometimes they look at us and you can see the think balloon - why don''t you just speak English to us it will be quicker!!

Hope that helps

Alabalik
