Title: Flights to dalaman - December/February?
Post by: Trena59 on September 15, 2012, 12:14:18 PM
Hi everyone, new to this site. We're in the process of buying an apartment in Kalkan (very excited!). We want to fly out about 27th Dec for about a week, from London, also want flights for half term week in Feb.
Flythomas cook have flights, was wondering if anyone has advice about when to book flights, which airlines have the best deals etc. Out of season flights are quite far and few between, we were also wondering if it's worth booking flights to Istanbul then internal flights to Dalaman or Antalya? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Trena
Congratulations on buying your property. We have booked flights from 27th December for a week direct from Manchester to Dalaman as we much prefer to do this and get as much time in Kalkan as possible. You can do Antalya but if you do you might be wise to book an over night stay if you do. Remember nights are darker so if you arrive in the late afternoon your whole journey (which is quite a long one) would be in the dark so you wouldn't even be able to really enjoy the drive. Remember you also have to go back the same way and have the journey over again. Our flights are with TC. February may be a little more difficult as last year Dalaman didn't have any UK flights until March but every year seems different so not too sure on that one. Hope this helps. KM

I've flown a few times from Mcr via Istanbul out of season, bags booked through to Dalaman. Each time it's been a short time (<2hrs) at Istanbul, arriving at Dalaman Domestic but bags go to International and you follow on a bus, so your car hire / pickup needs to be at the International Terminal.
