Title: February
Post by: turkeyfan on January 15, 2008, 10:55:53 AM
Hello,

We are going to Kalkan 11th-18th February to stay our appartment for the first time and any information and tips about Kalkan this time of year.

Which restaurants are open?  Will there be any furniture/furnishing/lighting shops open in Kalkan or would we have to travel further afield.

What can we expect with the weather - what clothes would we need to take?

Thanks

Kay

The weather could be much as it is now, chilly/cold nights reasonable days. Just beware of the winds and when it rains it rains.
Check out the previous comments re New Year etc., about what to take out and where to eat, it should be almost the same.  Have a good time.

Hi Kay.

We were in Kalkan in November, the weather was nice and warm in the day but cool at night, don''t forget to take your scarf and gloves with you. We had only one stormy day during the week and the heavens did open.

Furniture shops all were open, we did a bit of furniture buying when we were there, it is exciting kitting your place out, everytime we go we always buy something.

Hope you have a great time staying in your new abode, we go March the 14th for a week ROLL ON!!!!!!

Amanda

Hi Turkeyfan - just returned from a wonderful week - take warm clothes and layers - daytime temp reached 28 degrees on my balcony but nights were chilly - weather was very warm and sunny except when it was cloudy and a bit windy and then you need a fleece and jumper!  There are plenty enough restaurants open - to eat out every night in somewhere different - I went to 2 new restaurants last week that I had never been to before - Istanbul and Iso''s along from Moonlight bar (which is closed)!!  All diy and furnishing shops and supermarkets all open - just trinkety and clothes shops closed!!

Enjoy - you will have a lovely time - but make sure you reconfirm your flights home - see my other posting (and Chris''s)!!

Cheers!
