Hi ya, visiting kalkan mid september for the first time .... plan to enjoy the resort and the sun mainly with lots of eating out (other half is a chef and critical ... loves fish, where to go?!) ... maybe take a trip or 2, any ideas on where - food or historical sites not too far away ... thanks!!! very excited :)

- Partially unpack
- Head into town
- Enjoy any of the many top notch restaurants Kalkan has to offer
If your OH does finds something to complain about then he needs his taste buds testing ;D

I also love fish and so my favourite restaurant is the Fish Terrace.....and also had lovely fish dishes at Moussakka and Coast......enjoy!

Had Fabulous fresh red snapper served with a very delicate garlic sauce on the side in Aubergine on the harbour. Lots of restaurants offer 'A catch of the day'.

thanks folks! have been reading restaurant reviews like mad, liking the sound of the Fish Terrace for sure and Aubergine too .. also Salt and Pepper, Chapter 1 and Agora? .. Wheres a good bar for music and drinks after? And is it right that some places will collect and leave you back to your villa .. ours is about 2k from the centre.

Hi and welcome to the forum. You could try the trout farms in islamlar, we have never eaten there but I believe they are all very good and some will come and collect you ( if not all, I'm sure others who are more knowledgeable will help you with this). Also adem will collect and return you to and from his restaurant on the kas road. We have eaten there and can highly recommend it.
We love the moonlight bar for good music and people watching but there are many others to try too. Happy holidays!

We like Pisces for fish and the family who run it are lovely. It's always beautifully cooked and he will tell you what's good today and if any fish isn't fresh. Their parices are also very reasonable. It's at the top of the town between the start of the pedestrianisation and the Moonlight bar.

Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will both find it an absolute delight trying out the various fish dishes served by most of the beautiful restaurants in Kalkan. As well as those already mentioned (particularly Fish Terrace) Seaport on the harbour is well worth a look. The fresh fish is shown in a refrigerator by the restaurant on the harbour and they will explain what each fish is and how it can be cooked. Price wise it is very reasonable even though it's on the front and the views are stunning. Have a great time.
