Money
« on: July 13, 2008, 01:30:52 PM »
Hi everyone,

I will be in Kalkan for the first time next week. Do I need anything other than some Sterling and my credit card?

Thanks

Paul H

Hi Paul,
I would recommend you take some Turkish Lira also just to tide you over for the first day or so.

might be worth taking a 1 euro coin for each airport ...Gatwick and Dalaman charge i euro for a trolley..luckily our luggage is always light but some people were struggling to find a coin!! ;)
People Of Britain.. When your missus asks "Does my bum look big in this? Never say "Dunno your blocking the light."... just sayin ????

Hi Paul,
no I don''t live there but how I wish I did. We visit twice a year and find it useful to have a few Lira for basic shopping, tips etc. After that you can use the cash point in Kalkan but unless you have a Nationwide Flex account your bank will charge you for each transaction.
Another handy tip is to make sure you have Mozzie Repellent. Sinkov is available at most supermarkets in town and is quite effective.
I hope you enjoy your first trip to Kalkan. Have a lovely holiday.
Lorretta.

Many thanks Lorretta, useful advice, I''ll let you know how we get on. I''m looking at a few villas via ''Blacklions'' when I ''m out there with a view to purchasing for investment purposes. Quite exiting really

Regards

Paul H

John may I ask where the posts have gone as you have said they did not breach policy. I guess I am now confused.

Sorry, I deleted them as John was posting his response, as, in my opinion, it was turning into a "Commercial Break", and was off the original topic.

Hi Everyone,

Just to explain the confusion - EnjoyKalkan has been under a prolonged hacking attempt today so whilst I have been dealing with that I asked the EK Safety Team to do a full sweep of the forum so you may find a few cross-overs.

I would also like to take this opportunity to assure you that no data has been compromised and EnjoyKalkan (and other EK sites) has stood up to the attack.

Jon
