Neighbours as forum members
« on: July 22, 2016, 05:49:30 PM »
Hi, not posted for a while but reading daily.

Do you know any forum members who own property near to where you go in Kalkan?   Bob and Jayne know that we are within waving distance from them.  I have never been there at the same time but one of these days I will be waving from the roof terrace and possibly meeting up?

I now discover that Sezkalkan who has just bought a lovely duplex with its own pool is right opposite us.   We will wave to you also!   Our house, Yellow Villa, is the long yellow house just opposite you and it appears in quite a few of your photos on your website.   I discovered this when I clicked on details of your property when you introduced yourself to the Forum.

Bob and Jayne's place, also Sezkalkan's, didn't exist when we bought.

Anyone else with neighbours from the forum?

Hello Tortoise Lady, my new neighbour! I have just returned from Kalkan and kept looking at your villa but it looked empty - Jayne had mentioned that it belonged to you. Not out again until 8th October. I need to get a new job where I get at least 10 weeks off every year so that I can come for 3/4 weeks at a time. 11 days wasn't enough  :'( :'(. Look forward to meeting you and Jayne at some point!
You're right, your villa does appear in a lot of my photos!  ;D
When are you there next?

And we are just opposite Sezkalkan, and just up the road from Bread and More.

Incidentally Sezkalkan I think I can see Bob and Jayne's balcony in one of your photos!   Glad you are in contact with them.

Love the new seating etc you have put outside, Sezkalkan.   Really great.

We had to delay an earlier visit because of a family member's surgery but rebooked flights to come out in about two weeks time.  I have a knee problem so if you see a tortoise with a walking stick it could be me.   Will probably use a lot of taxis this year, normally never need them.

We are booked again in September but will have left by the time you arrive Sezkalkan.    Maybe another year.   Like you we can't manage to get to Kalkan as often as we would like.
It is hot in London at the moment and I'm dreaming of relaxing on the roof terrace with a large g and t.   Or an effes by the pool.   Both attractive thoughts.

Just seen your post Chris the Spark.  So another forum neighbour.   Do you have a website so I can see just where you are.  We have one, www.kalkanyellowvilla.co.uk if you want to see where we are, although maybe you already know.

Are you out there for long on this visit?

Yes, from our balcony we can see both you tortoiselady at Yellow Villa and Sezkalkan at Fabio, with new guests staying. We also saw Chris the Spark walking past last night to their apartment too!

Hi Tortoise Lady we have a link at the bottom of my posting. I'm at the end of Milli Egemenlik. I can see your roof terrace from our place.
It was nice to see Bob and Jayne last night 😄😄

Yes, Chris, found your website.   Especially love your shaded ottoman seating area with cool looking filmy curtains.  You are a very short walk away.

I have a feeling that two other forum members live fairly close by as well.  And I know Felicity lives not far away, just a bit further up the hill.  I often see her running past in the early morning from my bedroom balcony.  Usually at a time when I am still having a first glass of juice to help wake up.

The forum really provides a community feeling.

Thank you tortoise Lady! We only bought Fabio in Sept last year and everything was already done.  Your villa looks amazing!  I have these ideas that one year I'm going to bring my whole family out (it's big!) and if we do it'll be great knowing that we could rent villas and apartments close by!  My new guests arrived today, but only for 5 days - a very cheap last minute bargain for Them!  I've had a lovely day in the garden today, in the lovely sunshine. No swimming pool to cool me down, or Efes, but plenty of PIMMS!   :D 🍹🍹 Thinking of all you lucky people who are there and feeling very envious!
