Mulberry Handbags
« on: July 14, 2012, 07:40:35 PM »
Hello,

Please can anyone tell me a ball park figure on how much I should expect to pay for a genuine fake Mulberry? A decent one not a cheap copy

Thanks!
Jennifer

I would say between 250 - 300 Lira and don't forget if you go to BSG and pay cash you get 10% discount. I bought a large very good quality hermes for 250Lira this year most of the shops are the same price but do shop around as some are better quality than others I thought!.

BSG and Misty May are regarded as best for quality.  £100- £150 will get you a great quality 'lookalike' item costing £500-£700 at Selfridges in the Uk...

Think of it as a nicely made leather handbag rather than a knock off . . . Leave that to the tacky plastic stuff on the market.

Still on the subject of handbags, has anyone bought or know if any of the shops stock Ted Baker handbags (genuine fake of course!) the make is Stab Stitch Ted Baker, they retail at home around £220.

Sorry for all the posts today, but am still at home resting my foot!

Not seen any Ted Baker bags - they don't really do High Street copies...or at least they've passed me by ::)
I bought both my bags from Nuri this year and they are very good quality. Jennywren, with a Mulberry copy you need to check the latch and zips for the logo - you will get a nice Mulberry Bayswater (large size) for about £100 if you barter. Nuri had a lovely ponyskin one that I might buy if we get back this year. For all other copies always check the lining, zips and clasps for the correct logo then you know you have a better quality bag - the cheaper ones have plain lining and might not have logo details on the zips.
Take no notice of Misty he has a real handbag sopabox thing going on, which he is entitled to have :-*
Will take a look at Tekin's bag shop next time we're there, BL. Thanks for the tip :)

Hi, I bought a lovely 'genuine fake' Mulberry handbag - messenger bag style in a gorgeous red leather - from MistyMae, when in Kalkan in late June. The quality of the leather is excellent, the zips have the Mulberry logo, as does the clasp. The manufacturing of the bag also seems excellent. I paid 140TL for it, about £50 at the exchange rate at the time. This was including the discount that the shop owner gave me. I had trawled all the Mulberry bag shops and found those in Misty Mae to be the best for quality, choice AND price. I am going back in September and hope to buy one of the small Hobo style bags from her too. She has also said that should there be any problem with my bag she will replace it. A friend of mine, who lives in Kalkan, has also bought bags from there and says that hers are an excellent buy.  :) :)

Dependant on the size of the handbag you will need to expect to pay up to 400tl for a Mulberry - but of course this price is negotiable!  My daughter and I extensively 'surveyed' the bag shops in Kalkan and Misty Mae in our opinion was the best, closely followed by BSG.  BSG is on the main street of the old town going down the hill and opposite the Olive Garden restaurant, Misty Mae can be found if you continue straight down this main road as far as you can go and then going to the right down towards the port.

Happy shopping  :)
Lou :)

Hi, I bought a beautiful mulberry hobo ( large size ) in taupe leather from Nuri a couple of weeks ago. It cost £130.00 and has been very much admired since coming home.  The inside of the bag is exquisite and it's really well made. I'm absolutely over the moon with it and would have bought it even if it hadn't got a ( fake ) designer logo on it. Thank you K4E for all your handy hints and tips. I've a long way to go before I can reach your designer "egghead" bag staus!!  ;D

Thanks for all your advice... I have a budget of about £140 so judging by all your responses I will be able to buy a lovely Mulberry!

2 weeks today I will be at the airport ready to board the plane for my first trip to Kalkan and I must say I am so excited I could burst!

Will report back on bag shopping (and indeed the holiday!) on my return

Thanks all x

Just returned from a wonderful holiday, and I bought a black Chanel clutch bag, which retails around £780, I paid £67 for it, you wouldn't know it isn't the real thing, and my daughter is thrilled to bits!
