Using Credit Cards
« on: July 06, 2012, 10:35:21 AM »
Hallo

One more question   ;D

When using a credit card - is it by way of chip and pin or is it signing a chit?

Cheers

Yes, Chip & Pin.
Just started to see the transactions coming through on the Nationwide (commission-free) card we used in the week commencing 25/6 and they're exchanging at around 2.82.
Thats better than the local rate was. Happy days.
Roll on 17/8!

Your Nationwide card isn't commision free any more, they started charging a hidden commission last year.

Because of this we changed to the Halifax's Clarity card. This has no commision and they give you £5 a month if you bill more than about £300 a month.

To get the card you have to open a current account with the Halifax but as they give you £100 for opening it and £5 a month for using it this is no great hardship.
