« on: July 06, 2012, 02:30:18 PM »
Hi folks,
Does anybody know of a bar in Kalkan that will be showing the British F1 Grand Prix this coming Sunday?
Thank you in advance!
Rob.

A very wet race indeed. Is the Elixir close to the Meldi Hotel do you know?

We live in Northamptonshire, home of the British Grand Prix - it has rained literally from 6.00a.m. this morning - but has stopped now (16.50) and tomorrow is forecast good, but still not quite as warm as Kalkan!  We had three weeks there in June,  still wishing we were back there - enjoy!

Yesil Ev bar on the Kalamar Road (in front of Beyhan apartments) was showing all the Sky Formula 1 programmes last month.
This is a lovely new bar and is closer to the Meldi than the Elixir.

Wouldn't bother with the rain it's going to be a wash out and even more boring than usual watching them go round and round   :) ;)

The Elixir is a great place to watch, it's along the Kalamar Rd, fairly flat (for Kalkan) only one bit just before the Hotel is steep but thankfully short!
see my virtual tour http://www.gyrapix.co.uk/360/tours/Kalkan_Town/_auto/flash/Gyrapix_Project14.html
once loaded scroll right on the thumbnails to find the Elixir and click on it, you will be able to lookaround the bar, also if you then click on the 'map' button top right this will open a google map and show the location.

I have a very responsible position...
When anything goes wrong I’m responsible!!

In the past the Elixir have managed to show 2 premiership football matches at the same time. So it is possible that they will be showing F1 on one TV and Tennis on the other, needs a bit of local research before the event, I would volunteer to pop in and have an Efes and ask but we are not in Kalkan for a couple of weeks..

Sorry you think it's boring Misty, but could I suggest that you delve a little deeper into what's actually happening, or the potential of what could happen, then it may increase your enjoyment.

Rain in F1 (except when they have to stop, or use the safety car, when it's really bad) always livens things up due to the unpredictable effect on cars, tyres and the ability of the drivers and strategy.

Then again you could always watch something interesting like someone jumping into a sandpit, running around in circles, or running up and down watching one other person kick a ball.  ;D

Thanks for the info on where to watch - I shall refer to this in September for Italy and Singapore, when watching with an Efes can only mean Kalkan.....
