Your favourite Kalkan bar

With Pascha and Eden Lounge now a thing of the past, what is your favourite bar in Kalkan, maybe it is one that hasn't been mentioned often.....

Got to be the old favourite - Kleo - for its lovely vibe, fab views and there's always something to watch whether it's gulets returning or the kids and dogs playing in the sea.

Have to agree with KalkanMagic with the Kleo bar. Good vibe, excellent Mojitos and always something to watch, dogs/kids on beach, boats coming in and out of harbour etc. Wish we were sat there now!!

We like sitting out at the end of Fener Bar after a day on the beach watching the boats coming to and from the beach clubs. Bliss

We love Yali Bar - Cimirik (no clue how to spell his name!) is a sweetheart and has our drinks ready as soon as he spots us ambling down.  Love to sit there and watch people strolling by.  *sigh* wish I was there now

Another vote for Kleo My holiday doesn't officially start until I'm sat at one of the tables right at the edge by the railings, listening to the gentle waves on the beach with a daquiri in front of me.

One thing I would like in Kalkan is a bar which plays a variety of music.  Most places seems to just play 80s power ballads, Celine Dion and Rod Stewart on repeat.

Flamingo bar will play anything by request and has a huge repertoire. Next to Istanbul restaurant, run by Ali's (of Zeus boat fame) brother. Once you've been a couple of times they will select your favourites as s oon as you arrive.  Many a G and T have we had sitting in that bar!

Cafe del Mar after an evening out followed by Moonlight Bar sitting on the terrace people watching (love to see how many ladies are trying to make it down to the harbour in high heels ). Although OH would put the other way round.

I always forget about Flamingo, will have to check it out in September!  It's always nice to go to new places

We like different bars for different times of the day/evening...we usually end up at Moonlight at some point though

Confession time, in all my visits to Kalkan I have never been to Kleo... or at least I can't remember.. (please don't correct me if you know differently!)

A left field option is Fotos pizza , we only discovered it this year but with very friendly staff, fabulous view from upstairs and Effes at 4TL it hits the spot. Pizza's pretty good too.

For hubby and I (and the Brother-in-Law and his family) it has to be Fener during the day watching the boats on the sea, kids jumping in the water and the people on the beach.  Being footie fans we like Yali Bar for the game and for people watching.  We know where we like and tend to revisit the people that we know.  We must be more adventurous next time.  We did try Foto's Pizza one afternoon in May.  The views are great, the Efes cheap but the chair's weren't very comfortable on the terrace.  At Fener you have the chairs, the views, the beer, the host.  I want to be sat there right now and not sat at my desk with lunchtime fast disappearing.    Jo
