New Banks Coming To Kalkan
« on: May 03, 2012, 05:37:01 PM »
I have just heard a rumour that there are two new banks opening in Kalkan in the near future, one of which is HSBC. Has any one else heard this rumour or has any definite information as to whether two new banks are coming and if one of them is HSBC.

The HSBC rumour has been going around for a long time now.I am sure they would do very well in Kalkan.I currently bank with HSBC in Fethiye and find it an advantage having both my Turkish and UK accounts with the same bank.

amber.  In what way is it an advantage to have an HSBC bank in both the UK and Turkey? We have previously asked a similar question about having an Is Bank account at the London branch as well as in Kalkan.

I seem to have had less problems than a number of my friends who bank with 2 different banks. If I have a query at one or another they can easily contact and work together.Transfers are easy and if I have a facility in either country it is extended to the other where maybe I wouldnt qualify as a standalone customer.
HSBC offer internet and telehone banking in Turkey and I can use cash machines at the other banks without charge so actually having a branch in Kalkan, whilst nice, has no real advantages to me.I rarely need to go into a branch nowdays.
Yes I did work at HSBC for many years, so of course I am a fan!!

Thanks Amber, shame it is just a rumour, as an HSBC customer in the UK I thought that it might make things like money transfers a little easier.
