To all of you out there who are or were thinking of booking there - the problems I reported have been resolved after major work - see K4E's quote below.  Skunk
 
Just thought I'd let you know, when we arrived the pool looked pretty bad - cloudy and almost green in colour and we definitely decided not to use it. However, 2 days into our stay there was some major work undertaken and the pool is now crystal clear and beautiful - we've used it a couple of times and its absolutely fine.
The place is really lovely, we're very likely to book again.
