That's a great article - but I do wonder what on earth the blood tests are for, that seems so random!

We got married in Kalkan in 2010 and the rules have changed slightly as we used the Kas registrar.

The blood tests are to check if you have sexually transmitted diseases.  Aparrently, if you do, you can't get married until you are clear!

Currently have a duplex apartment in Kiziltas which we visit as often as we can.

Blood tests but no swabs to check for the some of the main STDs? Guess you can't really argue the point though when in another country!

It is also a requirement in most states of the USA and Mexico and other countries.
