:) Great news! For anyone who hasn't done New Year in Kalkan, give it a go. The atmosphere is brilliant and great to hear that another fab restaurant will be staying open.

I don’t want to appear to be being picky, but given all the censorship that takes place in this forum of any form of commercial promotion, surely it’s wrong for a restaurant to promote itself so blatantly?

You know who really gives kids a bad name? Posh and Becks

Doy Doy is my favourite restaurant in Kalkan and so I chose to post an item stating that they are staying open for Christmas/New Year. Doy Doy did not ask me to do this, it is no different from any other thread posted asking where is good for this period or me posting a response on such a thread.

I don't care if anyone promotes, advertises or whatever. I'm big enough (and old enough) to make my own mind up.

Personally I think the DoyDoy is over priced and over rated. Don't get me wrong - the food is nice, the staff friendly but I don't think it's worth extra dosh.  Same goes for Trio, Aubergine, Gironda etc.

Dare-say I will get slated for speaking again - bring it on...... xxx

I thought that Gironda was a bit of the bargain given the quality of the food they are now serving but would agree that Aubergine and Doy Doy ares overrated/overpriced - didn't get to try Trio this year.

In general we found that prices between the top restaurants and the rest seemed to have shrunk this year and it was well worth paying the (small) difference  to dine at the likes of Gironda, Mussaka and Gourmet.

Well I'd love to be able to visit Doy Doy this Christmas!  I'd love to visit any restaurant in Kalkan this Christmas - but Doy Doy would be top of my list as it's extra special to me!
 :)
