And now for the reason why we only managed 10 days in Kalkan this year........we didn't feel like celebrating our 30th WA during late November in Kalkan (as relaxing as I can imagine that would be).

No, for us sun-starved Brits, it had to be a few more rays each day than that. But somehow, I don't think I'm going to get the same response that I get from you lovely Enjoy Kalkan people, egging me on with my Daily Blog.

I need your support to help me develop my blog, ready for early June back in Kalkan next year, when normal service can be resumed.

I'm also looking forward to your new blog. I have never been to that part of the world and it sounds good for a winter break. I trust you will be telling us about the food and drink in addition to scenery etc.

Hi tortoiselady!
Thanks for tracking me down on TA; hope you get to follow us around.
It will give me a chance to hone my writing skills in an "All Inclusive" resort, which is very unlike us!
I can't imagine how different it will be from Kalkan, especially as next June we have a large villa in Kalkan, and intend to do a lot more entertaining in what looks to be a beautiful property; so my blog could become a live "Saturday Kitchen" from Kalkan - only every day!!

If you haven't already been following Antler's blog on Grand Pineapple Beach, Antigua, then I encourage you to do so. It makes wonderful reading, true Antler style. I was away for a few days without a computer and had to do a quick catch up on my return.

I will also be looking forward to his next Kalkan blog in 2012 but in the meantime am enjoying reading about a part of the world I have not visited.

Thanks tortoise lady! Antigua was a very different experience to Kalkan, not least of all because we only managed 4 nice days out of 14! I have never seen rain like it on holiday, for hours on end! But the dominoes were good (whilst drinking a Barbuda Pink Sand cocktail!)

So, now I'm beginning to think that the world's weather may let us down in Kalkan when we arrive so early (for us) in 2012, on June 8th.

Happy New Year to you all and I'm looking forward very much to my 2012 EK blog.

we usually go around this time...it is great...very hot but not so that you don't feel like doing anything like july /aug..this year was high 70's/ 80's and a small shower that cleared the air and was gone in an hour was all we got in 14 days...brown as a berry and an even darker belly because it was nearer the sun
