Any amateur speculators out there?

Despite the Pound Lira exchange rate hitting yet another 12 month high today (happy days for us holiday makers) I have read one report where in the short to medium term the Lira may well devalue by another 5-10%!! Before steadily moving back to rates closer to last summers.

Any bankers out there? (Thats not a euphemism!!)

Ok, so there are no bankers or speculators holidaying in Kalkan at the moment but the weakening of the Lira continues. The bank rate is currently 2.90 (from 2.77 when I first posted) with M&S offering 2.79 over the counter!!

So what are the locals saying?

As you would expect in any tourist resort the locals are very currency savvy, happy to sell in Lira, Sterling, Euros & the Dollar so they must have an opinion on their own currency's strength (or weakness).

I am still reading reports that the 3 Lira to the Pound mark will be hit this year.

Do the locals think the Lira will continue to weaken resulting in the £ hitting 3 Lira to the £ in the next month or two or do they think their currency is about to get stronger?
