Old notes and coins
« on: July 24, 2011, 09:14:59 PM »
Forgot this bit on last post. I read somewhere on here about some coins and banknotes are no longer accepted. We were in Kalkan 3 years ago and I have just found a collection of coins and notes- not much, about 18 Yeni Turk Lirasi. This is on every coin and note. I have a feeling the word Yeni (new) is no longer on notes/coins so not legal tender?.  Shame if so as would have been good for Gocek tunnel toll and towards the first couple of Efes or 3. Advice please, are these notes/coins now u.s.?
Thanks.

Don't know if you can still exchange them but if they are the only bank that exchanges them is the last one on the left as you go up the hill, just past the Ibo kebeb place. I changed notes there (don't think they do coins) after they became obsolete.
