THAT ONE ON THE CORNER.....

If you were asked to name the restaurant in Kalkan that has changed its name more than any other, most would go for Breeze/BarBQ/Pizzeria/Piazza, on the corner of Kalamar road, just opposite Kaya.  'That one on the corner' is now under new management.
 
Some of you may know Sinan from Doy Doy, who has taken on the lease of this restaurant and decided to call it 'Corner'.  He and his team have been working hard to put their stamp on the place and they will be opening this evening, so why not drop in for a drink or a meal when you are next in the area?

Eniste - any idea what it's theme will be ; or is there any chance it will be different from what went before.

I feel sorry for the guys across the road who already have Korner Cafe...why would the new owners give their place an almost identical name? Unless Korner Cafe is no more

The one over the road is the Kalkan Cafe and it now seems to have closed for the winter which is a shame as the food there was really excellent and great value.

when we were there in June, all their menus had "Korner Cafe" on them - it was the same guys who had the Kalkan Cafe Fast Food, who moved into the empty premises just next to their previous place. We loved it there. Nice simple food, nice prices and Efes in frozen glasses...hope they return for next summer and aren't too put-out if they are indeed called Korner

Doy Doy, Rendezvous, Chillies, That one on the the corner and how many more? Nothing against a bit of capitalism but preferred it when I thought that the restaurants were family run and owned by the nice blokes on the doors!

Very pleased that the Corner cafe, which is entirely unrelated to the restaurants listed in the last post, other than one or two having previously worked there, is now doing a roaring trade.  Not a table to be had last night or for the last few.  I think they now have the right menu and the right prices for their location.  Sinan and the boys are working really hard to keep everyone happy and seem to be succeeding.  Lots of families there last night and they cater really well for kids and grown-ups.  Long may it continue!
