Visa or no visa
« on: June 06, 2011, 04:53:56 PM »
Hi All, Just wondering should I apply for a visa when we go on holiday in September or should I just pay the fee at Dalaman airport.
Thank you
Billmccan

Hi Billmccan,

Know no need to worry, you just buy a visa at Dalaman airport, just join the (long) queue.  It cost £10 per person for a UK passport holder.

Enjoy your holiday, be great if you could post a "holiday report" about your hol's in Kalkan ?
Latest weather report...... Large outbreaks of Efes followed by intermitent spells of vodka and tonic ;-))

Thank you for the quick reply, as we aren't going to september I thought i would apply for a visa that would save me queueing .
And yes i will write a report , I have already done one for menorca-net.co.uk
Thanks again for anymore info.

The queues may be long but move very quickly, they just take your tenner and stick a visa stamp in your passport. You then go to immigration and they then datestamp the stamp.

Bill,
I'm making a huge assumption bit if you're a "sweaty sock" I'd recommend you to take sassenach tenners! I saw a couple have problems a year or 2 ago when they only had Scottish notes.

They don't accept Scottish money in Turkey, my cousin had real problems last year when they only had Scottish currency and ended up using their card instead of their money.

It will certainly be the fastest tenner you've ever parted with so don't worry about the queues!
