Lat I heard you had to go to the main Turkcell shop in Fethiye and you needed Turkish Residency - cost of registration its self was 5TL

We went to the Turkcell shop in Fethiye, it would have been (we were told & we had a Turkish friend with us) more expensive to register our UK phone than buy a new one, we did, the cheapest we could get, including sim card 132TL. the phone is a Samsung which is on sale at Asda for £15.

Last year I registered my new phone bought in Europe.  I went to the Turkcell Extra shop with my residence permit and passport and I paid 5 TL. 

There were 2 Extra shops in Fethiye.   One gave very bad service.  They were rude and disinterested. So I went to the other one where the girl was very helpful and finished the registration in 10 minutes.  I have to take my husband's new phone there in a couple of weeks.  Will post the result !

I think the key must be the residency permit, without it it is much more expensive.

An alternative idea is to buy a second hand mobile. My Nokia was 50 lira including SIM and credit from the Avea shop in Fethiye. But you need to take your Turkish friend with you for ID/residency if you're a UK resident.

thanks for replies so i think no one has registered one in kalkan,what about baros his new shop i think is a turkcel,any one tried a dongle in turkey,has anyone bought one or has anyone bought the sim card for dongle
