Tour of Turkey cycle race
« on: April 12, 2011, 09:43:25 PM »
Does anyone know if the roads are closed for this race? My husband is taking family back to the airport on the Friday morning (29 May) just before the race starts in Fethiye and so needs to be ahead of any road closures. On the return he will be behind the riders coming from Fethiye. If they do close the roads what time will the Fethiye to Kalkan road be closed? Have the Feds or anyone else any info as it will affect more than us I imagine.

Do you mean April 29?
If you're travelling on May 29 and encounter Tour riders they will be very slow ones!

we were caught up in it last year. we were coming from dalaman and the roads were closed. the taxi had to take us through calis and over mountains before we could join the main road again. our journey took over 3 hours! good luck

Thanks. It looks like he will have a long journey back but more importantly is the journey there or they could miss their flight. If anyone has more info I would be grateful.
