Good News/Bad News

A six page spread in today's Telegraph Travel section - Turkey is going to be THE place for 2011!  Especially the southern part.

Whilst I am very happy for the local tradespeople/hoteliers/restauranteurs who need to make a living(as we all do!), my mind boggles at the thought of Dalaman airport, they could not manage a p...up in a brewery - even at 2.00a.m. at the end of last September, usual chaos prior to departure.

Methinks a change of venue this year and let the dust settle!  Who knows what the "in place" will be next year - Afghanistan?

According to The Sunday Times, 8 page spread, Italy (and in particular Sicily) is the place to go this year!

I'm not winding you up, maryjane, but I do think a lot of it  is down to the freebies the travel journos get.

Sally...I'll reserve judgement until August...if I'm mobbed by shirtless beer bellied shaven headed men with their football shirts tucked in their shorts.....accompanied by their tattooed partners.....all looking for the best happy hour and all day breakfast or English roast dinner....you're wrong
