Urban Myth

Is it true that there was a brothel operating in Kalkan and it has now been closed down on the orders of the mayor or is this indeed another urban myth........?

it most definately is no urban myth! it is a thriving trade in kalkan but one 'they' would prefer you all to know nothing about.

It's one of the oldest 'professions' so nobody should be surprised it's operating in Kalkan. It crosses all races and creeds. For example of this operating in a muslim country, I was in Morocco last year staying in a small seaside resort on the northeast coast, very traditional. My partner and I were looking for a bar to go to late in the evening to have a drink after a day travelling on the local transport, but told there were none open. However, our hotel reception then asked around and we were led to a bar operating on the top floor of a hotel (which we had in fact booked to stay in but changed our minds when we arrived on the advicd of our taxi driver that brought us from the bus station).  What a good decision, because we stepped out of the lift on the top floor to be greeted by girls with next to nothing on and guys hanging around. A large room with a small bar at one end and a 'DJ' setting up at the far end. We had one drink to be polite but I couldn't wait to get out of there - no such chance. My partner was being 'eyed' up and another drink bought for him by a seedy looking guy in the corner. Meanwhile girls were coming and going, drinking, smoking and wearing the most apalling outfits and shoes. I have to say I felt sorry for them as I'm sure they had probably come from troubled backgrounds to end up in such circumstances.

So yes, it does go on everywhere!

Btw, prostitution in Turkey officially authorized and licensed brothels are almost in every city. Historically, that controls the entire industry one and only Armenian family.

That must keep them busy then!
There - over there, there are.            To - Going to
Their - belongs to them.                     Too - In addition, Also
They're - Short for they are.

Pedant! me?

Have now deleted my photos, so a big sigh of relief all round, and also I do not fancy a visit from the Armenian heavy mob, I value my limbs too much  :o :o :o
