Hello fellow Kalkan's - help please.

We are making our first visit to Kalkan late April this year (after lots of rave reviews from other people)  We have been told that it is very quiet in April - Could anyone shed any light on this i.e. restaurants, bars open etc.  I appreciate it will not be as busy as summer which is what we want - just to chill and relax and have a good look round without the searing heat of summer.  But ......... will it be a ghost town............. Any replies would be much appreciated.  Also we havn't booked any accomodation yet - so any suggestions with not too far to walk into town please.

Hello,glad to hear you are coming out to Kalkan in April.The season does really get going from the start of May.You may find that some restaurants/shops are not up and running but a lot will be.Be under no illusion that it will be a ghost town because there will be quite a bit going on,what with residents and holiday makers.
Yes it will be a bit quieter but that is great.Even at the height of the season it is never overcrowded which is the charm of Kalkan.We dont want mass tourism here,do we!!!
I own an apartment now,but last May,we stayed at the Kormurkuk apartments and they were superb.Very close proximity to town with stunning views.

Many thanks for the link to your apartment - looks lovely, but we are coming out on 22 - 29th April, yours is showing rental from 2nd May.

in case you are still looking for accommodation I am sending you a PM. As other people have said, not everything in Kalkan will be up and running during the period you are planning, but it will be a good time to nosey about and have a few good meals!
