Turkish Dongles
« on: January 02, 2011, 11:10:56 AM »
Can someone advise me of the cheapest internet dongle within Turkey. We own a villa which we could have a phone line connected to but it gets complicated when you have paying guests so I was considering buying a dongle when we visit next.
Anyone know the costs for a Pay as you Go, something that would cover an average 2 week holiday stay ???

Hi Villakova, this has been covered before, if you type "Turkish dongle" into the search engine, it will bring the posts up. From memory, most of the phone shops sell them. Good luck :)
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

I brought a “Turkcell Vinn” dongle last year.  You pay about 100TL for the dongle itself and then you purchase airtime.  There is a weekly deal where the data limit is 1GB and costs 19TL and a one month deal with a 4GB limit costing 49TL.  You top up as required.
It worked very well for me, speed was fine.
I assume that despite the winter break I will be able to top up the dongle again later this year when I return so the initial purchase cost seems reasonable.
