Hi people,
Yikes thud back to reality, came home Monday after a blissful 2 weeks, had a lovely meal at chillies on the Saturday I had beyti sarma, it was sooooooo good, then on sunday we went to the Mediteran for a dip in the infinity pool looking at the classic Kalkan view, then back to the villa for a cosy meal of a spicy lamb casserole thing I created after our visit to the market on Thursday and saw and smelt those spices.
Well back to rain, Rich still nursing a very large technicolour bruise returned to work Wednesday, armed with Turkish delight and many stories of our super holiday, I hate the cold and keep thinking of those hot days, I will keep looking for reports to give me a fix so keep them coming. Thanks to everyone on this site it has been so helpful and enjoyable both before and after our holiday. We don't usually go back anywhere for hols but I think Kalkan will be the exception, the atmosphere and friendliness, with lots to do trip wise will make us return. Our favourite part was the boat trip on Yildiz 1, food wise Bade and Chillies were great, we miss our little friend Minnie mee the cat but she is such a cutie she will soon have some more human friends I'm sure.
I will get Rich to put some pics on the gallery at the weekend.

I totally know that 'back down to earth with a bump' feeling Lindy - tomorrow it will be two weeks since I returned from Kalkan and I'm still not on Planet Normal! The weather in the UK is truly ghastly and everything seems grey and bleak, including the food

Glad you had a good time, Lindy, and have some nice memories-  especially ones being out on those boats!  It must be dreadful coming back to these dark and dreary nights. Whilst at work today, I thought about Kalkan a lot, as in one week's time I will have finished work for our week at the Samira Garden Hotel. What a contrast - the view of Kalkan Bay, i thought, with that of the Fish Merchant outside my window "specialising in cheeks and tonues" - and the wind was blowing the smell of rotten fish right into the office! Oh for the clean air on Yildiz II!

Glad you enjoyed your hol Lindy!! We will hopefully be having better weather in Turkey next week, not Kalkan this time but Calis beach. The memory of the day we had on Yildiz will stay with us, the hospitality of Osman and his wife and the fabulous lunch!
