Hi There,

We never buy spirits in Dalaman anymore - it's cheaper, certainly for us at Stansted, to make our purchases in blighty and bring whatever's left back home -  2 x litres per person Smirnoff/Gordons = £18.

Enjoy Kalkan!

Thanks, but how do you get them through security at Dalaman when returning home.We used to buy before flying out,and bring them home in hand luggage but this was stopped when the liquid regulations started unless we put the bottles in hold luggage, something i am very loath to do due to breakages.

You would have to put them in your suitcase.  They are fine wrapped up.

Think they were 2 for £20 on our last Thom Cook flight home if that's any help?
Currently have a duplex apartment in Kiziltas which we visit as often as we can.

I agree with turkeyfan. We were there in July and simply packed our (UK purchased) spirits back in our hold luggage with no problems.

You can scan spirits at Dalaman (euro/sterling/TL) where you will find it's quite a bit cheaper in the UK airports - or so it was in July.

Our daughter has just come back from Turkey and two litre bottles of Bombay at Dalaman worked out at £27 and it was about the same price when we came back in June. It was £25 for two on the way out at Manchester.
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)
