New Year frivolities?
« on: December 15, 2010, 07:26:09 AM »
I am lucky enough to be going to Kalkan for New Year - 27 Dec to 3 Jan - to stay with my new best (Turkish) friend!  I'm not quite sure what to expect - many places were closing for the season when I was last there in early November, but I wondered if anyone knows of any special New Year dinners/events/parties taking place that me and my guy could muscle in on?

Aubergine and the harbour front is the place to be.
Local owner run shops are open as are quite a few bare and restaurants.
12 oClock at the beach is where a load of us are partaking in a charity dip in the sea, come on down and join in.

Hi,
Have to agree Aubergine and the music and the fireworks. 3 years in a row now and wouldn't miss it!

Hey, thanks for tip off re Aubergine/Harbour front festivities. Sorry to sound naive - would that be 12 o clock midnight New Year's Eve, or 12 noon New Year's day?

Midnight NY eve for the fireworks etc and 12 noon for the charity swim, last year the weather was really good, here's hoping it is equally as good this year!

Sounds lke there will more than a few EK members at Aubergine on 31st should we all wear a rose to make ourselves known to eath other
