indian???
« on: August 10, 2010, 05:20:15 PM »
Hi there everyone,
i know this might be a heinous request, but does Kalkan with its plethora of eateries have anything like an indian restaurant or somewhere that blends asian tastes with the Turkish traditions???? only asking as i am a confirmed spiceaholic????
Also can anyone recommend a laid back bar to while away the hours sipping a chilled glass of ??? and listening to something  dreamy to compliment the Turkish sunsets????

If you want a really good chicken tikka masala made from fresh ingredients try the Paparazzi restaurant -made by Ramazan the owner - its really good
Its  down the last stretch of the street through the old part - just opposite Rendezvous

Chill out bar, Eden Lounge.  Along the street past Sofra restaurant (parallel to main street) and it's located there on the right hand side.  Total relaxation.  Enjoy!

There used to be an Indian restaurant on the harbour but it didn't even last one season. Chill out bar "Kaptan wine & Tapas" next to chillies on the Kalamar Road. Great atmosphere for pre dinner drinks or a night cap on the way home (or any time in fact) and Ali's taste of music is sublime.

When we were in Kalkan last month called into Chillies on Kalamar Road for our first ever visit.  No parking except for outside Kaptan Tapas bar.  When the staff realised we weren't going in to their establishment we were asked to move our car from outside their premises!  Our intention was to lunch in Kaptans the following day....needless to say we didn't!
The original question was about the availability of Indian food in Kalkan please see this previous post

Charlie you are a prince!
i will certainly be looking in to the regency's indian night.Do you know which night its on??

Trouble is, by the sounds of it, after this two week holiday I am going to be the size of a house! judging by all the mouth watering reviews and the number of must tries on my list!!!

any takers on a sweepstake of how much weight i put on in a fortnight???
hahahhahaha

iminei, just walk everywhere...you'll soon burn off the calories - that's what makes Kalkan so perfect for us.
Its mostly restaurants that have the rooftops for views, but a drink down at Kleo Bar near the beach will give you a nice view - the music isn't always to our taste, but the view definitely is if you take one of the harbourside tables :)
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

I sincerely hope not.  Couldn't bring myself to eat Indian food last month as it was so hot but was hoping to try it out in October.  :(

And if you don't want to go too far to eat just eat at Cafe Zula!  Lovely restaurant, great food and fabulous prices.

Sadly, it's true.  There is not an Indian night at the Regency now but they are still doing curry and now have a curry lunch every

Friday.  We haven't been yet so can't give any details but friends went last Friday and said the food was great and very authentic.

I will try and find out more and we will be going sometime in the next few weeks. so will report back

Will

Best bar with a view (especially at night) is at the Regency Hotel.
