Flights for September

I am planning my trip to Kalkan for September and have not been at this time of year before May/June.  Does anyone know whether it is worth booking in advance or waiting until the last minute as they seem fairly expensive at the moment.  Cheers Gail

my experience is the budget airlines get more expensive the later you book. You might be able to get on a charter flight cheaper if you leave it late but its a huge risk. September is a very popular time to visit Turkey so flights do tend to be more expensive than May/June.

I went on travelsupermarket.com last sunday for a flight on Monday for a friend and i got one from Manchester to dalaman for £86  return. i thought it was wrong and through the week i tried one for the next day and i got one for £75 return. It is a gamble though because i like to book in advance so i know i am really going to Kalkan

I wouldn't take the current low prices as a guide for the rest of the year. The world cup always depresses prices. Last time, in 2006, we got last minute return flights for around £60 but they were back to over £200 when we visited again at the end of September.   

If you want to travel in the next week or two Easyjet have plenty of availability with prices from about £130 return, and still coming down each day.
