1st time!

Hi me and the girlfriend will be staying at the Asiyan in August is this good? Is it far to walk to the beach? Will the black flies people are talking about still be around then? If so what do you recommend to stop them? Whats the best trip to go on? Whats the best time to get to the beach clubs, are they busy really early like what time???

you won't need to worry about balck flies in august....the mozzies are around then, buy local repellent when you get there!
not sure where your hotel is and if you search for trips and beachclubs there are lots of threads on here......you probably need to get to beachclubs before midday or they will be too busy!

The Asiyan is next to the Swan pub (don't be alarmed - no lager louts !) and handy for the Yali supermarket for small odds and ends. You are well placed for walking to town - downhill and 5 mins to centre plus another 5 minutes to the harbour where you wil find the first beach club (Indigo) Free boats from the harbour take you to the Palm Beach club and Mahal.

The Asiyan is well situated and looks lovely.  In August I would get to the busier beach clubs fairly early - about 10.30-11 ish. 

We arrived at Palm and Mahal beach clubs about midday in August last year and they were both too full.  Indigo wasn't too busy tho.

Stayed at the Asiyan 2 years ago.Excellent! Lovely pool and gardens,Baran was a very helpful owner.We were in Kalkan (apt), May June, this year Kalamar beach club was doing free  taxi hotel pick up.Yali beach club is just about walkable from Asiyan,via Lykia Hotel,but prob too hot in August.
