Young couple..first time going to Turkey and Kalkan!!

Hi everyone  ...Its our first time to turkey, nevermind Kalkan, basically we wanted a affordable holiday and this one happened to pop up in the sale of thomas cook, we are staying at the Samira hotel. Kalkan looks absolutely beautiful, can't wait to get there!...
Im a typical Ibiza lass! but this year I've decided to go for the laidback option with my boyfriend, however I was wondering how long the pubs are open for and if there are dance floors as a like a boogie!haha ( as well as nice intimate bars and restaurants)...Could any of you guys give me tips of what you think will appeal to us...im 21 and steven is 25

Lol Lucy! Ibiza!!!!!!!!!! Kalkan might come as a bit of a shock but hopefully a very pleasant one.No real nightlife in the style of Ibiza, but plenty of beautiful restaurants and bars. Some of the bars have dancing but again on a very small scale. Much more of a laid back holiday but I'm sure you'll love it. My son who's now 22 came with us to Kalkan as a young boy but hasn't been for the last few years. He is however coming with his girlfriend this year and is so looking forward to it. Loads of lovely places to visit during the day and enough laid back nightlife to keep him going. Have a wonderful time

i know,what can I say i have a lively side!! haha. It sounds great because to be honest i'm looking for a totally different holiday to Ibiza(thats my girley holiday!;)) I love cultural places, local food and drink!...I can't wait, we are going late August, so I think I better pack plenty of suncream!

I doubt if you'll go back to Ibiza after Kalkan! Make sure you take a boat trip (or two!), have fun at one of the beach clubs, do a Turkish night (now that's what I call dancing!), visit Patara beach, eat at any of the wonderful restaurants in the village, and also try the little Pide cafes, go to a trout restaurant up in Ismeler, check out the market in Kas or Kalkan... but most of all wallow in the warm welcome that the lovely Kalkan people will give you! Have a great time! I'm going back in 10 days! My 5th time in 12 months!!!

The bars are great..not Ibiza style but good music, friendly and stay open long into the night or early morning should i say, Bar Chocolate, Ignite and Mojito are the best ones, you will love it. Visit the lovely beaches, Saklikent Gorge, Gombe, boat trips...so much

Have a great time! Nice hotel and staff. My sons and daughter in laws love the place. They have been going back for a few years. One couple even spent their honeymoon there. A very romantic place.

Yep, the Samira is great. Fiona and I had our honeymoon there. Brilliant atmosphere around the poolside bar and the Turkish nights (on Saturdays) are great fun if you don't mind things being a ittle cheesy... It's also worth popping up to the Nur Hotel as well as they have varied live music two or three nights a week and a nice atmosphere at the bar.
