Ash cloud forcasting
« on: May 14, 2010, 12:34:05 PM »
Hi all,,,

If your like me and not yet departed for Kalkan and also very worried and wondering what are the chances of actually getting away, you can have a look at this link to that shows the movement and progression of the >>dreaded<< ash cloud,
http://metoffice.com/corporate/pressoffice/2010/volcano/ashconcentration/index.html
All of the UK flying comes under these rules, your ok to fly in the RED ( with restrictions ) but no flying in the BLACK.
'Maybe' dont look if you dont want to worry yourself stupid like i'm doing :(

Hi Niki,

Thanks for the link. I used to look at the weather forecasts from 15 days before departure to see if there were any forecasted "cloudy" days and now I'm living under a big black "ash cloud"  :( . Silver lining - maybe we'll get stranded in Kalkan longer than anticipated. ???

We're due to fly out on the 28th May so fingers crossed.
